Our Cylinder Wash facility in Kevil, KY has been busy busy busy!

Our client required that these washed 48G cylinders be modified so that they can more easily be filled with uranium oxide powder.  To facilitate that modification, UCSC employees remove the weather guard and LEL (lower explosive limit) measurements are taken on the atmosphere in each cylinder. Additionally a valve guard is being removed from the cylinder opening. After UCSC completes the LEL measurements, removes the valve guard and provides HP survey data to its customer, the cylinders will then be acceptable to ship. Upon receipt of the cylinders the client is able to take them directly into the process building and place them upward so that an opening can be cut in the cylinder to allow the powder to flow in.  The cylinder will then be sealed and sent for disposal to a licensed facility.
